On Friday, July 14th, Concordia Police Department responded to a report of damage at the City Park. The swimming pool and pickleball court were both vandalized. resulting in both being closed for an entire day and costing the city thousands of dollars. Three large windows were broken in the pool’s office, lifeguard stands had been thrown into the pool, a doorknob to the concession stand was broken off, and three deck chairs were destroyed.
According to Concordia City Manager, Amy Lange, the local police department has several solid leads in their investigation, and she believes the case will be wrapped up soon. Community members have voluntarily donated additional dollars to the reward fund to hold the individuals who caused the damage responsible.
