Junction City Homicide Suspect Identified and Detained

Junction City, KS- Following an extensive investigation, on October 2nd at approximately 1800 hours the Junction City Police Department Arrested Joshua Sturgis a 34 YO B/M resident of Junction City on the following charges:
• 2nd Degree Murder
• 2 Counts of Aggravated Assault
During their investigation Detectives identified Mr. Sturgis as the primary suspect. The Missouri Highway Patrol then located and initiated a traffic stop on Mr. Sturgis detaining him in Saint Charles County Missouri. Junction City Police Department Detectives then traveled and placed Mr. Sturgis under arrest on the before-mentioned charges. Mr. Sturgis is currently being held in Saint Charles County Missouri on a $1,00,000 bond pending extradition. The Junction City Police Department would like to thank the Missouri Highway Patrol, Geary County Sheriff’s Office, Junction City Fire Department, and the Saint Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

Junction City, KS- On October 2nd at approximately 0200 hours the Junction City Police Department was dispatched to the 900 block of North Washington for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival officers located one male subject suffering from a gunshot wound. This individual was transported to the Geary Community Hospital where they were pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as Justin J. Rose, 38 YO B/M resident of Junction City.
