On Saturday, November 8th, 2025, Junction City’s Vice Mayor, Alovence (Al) Gordon was arrested.
According to the Geary County Detention Center, Gordon was booked around 3:24 pm in connection with aggravated assault and use of a deadly weapon.
Gordan is currently serving on the City Commission. His term is set to expire in January 2026. Gordan ran for re-election but was defeated in the August primary election.
According to online court records, a pretrial conference for a pending misdemeanor charge of domestic battery from January 23rd, is set for Monday. A jury trial is scheduled to begin on Friday, November 14th.
City Attorney of Junction City, Britain Stites, said, “The City of Junction City is aware of the arrest of Vice Mayor Al Gordon by the Geary County Sheriff’s Office. The matter is unrelated to City operations, which will continue as scheduled. The City has no additional comment. Further inquires should be directed to the Geary County Attorney’s Office.”
Gordon was not reached for comment.
