Kansas Highway Patrol Reports Thanksgiving Holiday Activity

The Kansas Highway Patrol has released their Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend Activity Report. The reporting period began on Wednesday, November 22nd at 6:00 p.m., and went on until Sunday, November 26th at 11:59 p.m.

There was one fatal crash over that period that occurred in Jefferson County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

They made several DUI arrests, but the number decreased from 2022. In 2022, they had a total of 29 DUI arrests. This year, they arrested 18 people for DUI’s.

621 speed citations and 689 speed warnings were issued. There were 40 safety belt citations and 17 child restraint citations.

In total, Kansas Highway Patrol assisted 1,117 motorists over the holiday weekend.
