On June 1st and 2nd, a multi-jurisdictional criminal enforcement operation targeting major traffickers on I-70 was conducted in Geary County. Agencies involved included the Geary and Dickinson County Sheriff’s Offices, Junction City Police, and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

On June 2nd, Undersheriff Justin Stopper and Sheriff Nate Boeckman stopped a commercial vehicle near mile marker 302 for traffic violations. Suspicious indicators prompted a K9 search, which uncovered approximately 3,280 pounds of marijuana and 260 pounds of cocaine, valued at about $4 million. The DEA responded to assist.

Two California men were arrested and are being held on a $500,000 bond each. Sheriff Boeckman praised the collaboration between agencies, calling it a “powerful example” of cross-jurisdictional success.

The Geary County Sheriff’s Office thanked all participating personnel. The investigation remains ongoing.
