Department were dispatched to the 300 block of East 1st Street in response to a report of a male with a gunshot wound.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen and actively bleeding. Officers, along with personnel from the Concordia Fire Department, immediately rendered life-saving aid at the scene. The victim was then transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment.
Officers quickly secured the scene, obtained witness statements, and identified individuals believed to be connected to the incident. These individuals were detained and interviewed as part of the investigation. Officers continued working throughout the night to identify the primary suspect involved.
Search warrants were executed at the scene of the shooting and at a secondary location. The Concordia Police Department is currently collaborating with outside agencies in an effort to locate and apprehend the suspect.
At this time, charges for attempted murder in the first degree, and two (2) counts of aggravated robbery have been forwarded to the Cloud County Attorney.
As this remains an active and ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
All individuals involved are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
