The Riley County Police Department will be receiving a generous financial donation from the Manhattan Kennel Club on Wednesday, Oct. 8, to help support the department’s K-9 program.

The presentation will begin at 4 p.m. in the RCPD administration office, located at 1001 S. Seth Child Road in Manhattan. This event is open to the media to attend.

RCPD partnered with the Manhattan Kennel Club recently and participated in Responsible Dog Ownership Day at Manhattan City Park where the department served a picnic lunch. RCPD’s K-9, Kyra, was also on hand for demonstrations, but the highlight of the day was Manhattan Mayor Karen McCulloh’s proclamation declaring Sept. 20, 2025 Responsible Dog Ownership Day in Manhattan.
