Shooting in Junction City over Weekend Leads to Homicide Arrest

On February 1, 2025, at approximately 12:48 p.m., officers from the Junction City Police Department were dispatched to the 900 block of Kramer Court in response to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to Stormont Vail Flint Hills, where he was later pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as a 22-year-old male from Junction City. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.

Following an investigation, officers arrested a 27-year-old male from Fort Riley in connection with the incident. The suspect was transported to the Geary County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond on a charge of First-Degree Murder.

This was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
