Stabbing in Junction City Leaves One Dead and Two Injured

Junction City, Kan. — A Saturday morning stabbing resulted in the death of one, serious injuries to another and minor injuries to another in Junction City.

The Junction City police responded to the call around 2:30 am. When they arrived, they located one male suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to Geary Community Hospital and is in serious but stable condition.

Another victim was located, 30-year-old Stacy Subotich and was transported to Irwin Army Hospital with life threatening injuries. She later passed away.

A third victim later was discovered after they drove themselves to Geary Community Hospital with a non-life-threatening stab wound. He was later identified as 21-year-old Jalen Thomas.

Following an investigation Thomas was arrested for 2nd Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery, Domestic Battery, and Aggravated Assault and transported to the Geary County Detention Center where he is being held pending his First Appearance. The investigation remains ongoing.
