The Belleville Police Department has developed two suspects in the investigation of a card skimmer that was placed on a register in the Belleville Casey’s General Store on Highway 36.
Two male suspects have been developed and the Department is working to identify them at this time. The skimmer was placed on the evening of Friday, October 17, and the suspects are not employees or local citizens. It took a fraction of a second for the suspect to place the device while the clerk was dealing with another customer.
To date, the Belleville Police Department has received no reports of financial loss from the area but urges citizens to always monitor their accounts for strange activity.
On October 19, the Casey’s General Store on Highway 36 in Belleville, KS reported a skimmer that was attached to their register’s customer point of sale system. The register closest to the front door is the one believed to have been affected.
The public is encouraged to monitor their financial accounts and deactivate any financial cards, if necessary.
