Suspects Lead JCPD on Pursuit, all Now in Custody

This morning, June 26, 2025, at approximately 9:14 AM, the Geary County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls reporting an individual walking along Interstate 70. Deputies responded and made contact with the individual, from Kentucky, who was taken into custody without incident.

Later in the day, at approximately 11:47 AM, additional 911 calls were received regarding an individual walking along McDowell Creek Road. Deputies with the Geary County Sheriff’s Office responded and identified another individual, also from Kentucky, the third and final suspect involved in the foot pursuit and manhunt from the night prior, who was taken into custody.

All three suspects involved in last night’s vehicle pursuit and subsequent manhunt are now in custody. The individuals are currently being held at the Geary County Detention Facility, awaiting their first court appearance.

The Junction City Police Department would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Geary County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in apprehending the two outstanding suspects. We also want to thank the members of the public who promptly reported these individuals, which directly contributed to their safe apprehension.

There is no longer any threat to residents in the McDowell Creek area related to this incident. As always, we encourage the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity by calling 911.

This incident remains under investigation. No further information will be released at this time.
