A 35-year-old woman has been hospitalized following a shooting incident that occurred overnight in close proximity to the Aggieville Business District. Riley County Police Department (RCPD) officers swiftly responded to reports of multiple gunshots in the vicinity of Laramie St. before 2:00 a.m. on August 20, 2023.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the injured woman with a gunshot wound to her back. She was promptly transported for medical attention, with authorities confirming that her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The ongoing investigation has not led to any arrests at this point. Officials are encouraging anyone who possesses information regarding the incident to get in touch with the RCPD.
