Cloud County is one of six counties chosen by the Center on Rural Innovation to participate in the Heartland Rural Innovators Initiative. This new 18-month program, funded by the Patterson Family Foundation, is designed to help rural communities accelerate their tech and innovation economies.

Through this initiative, Cloud County will receive a customized tech economy assessment and strategy, hands-on implementation and funding-readiness support, opportunities to learn from peers across the Heartland, and a chance to come together at a regional innovators summit.

One such opportunity is already underway in CloudAID, an ambitious effort partnering CCCC, CloudCorp, and a private technology company to build a drone-enabled “last-inch” logistics network delivering medical and pharmacy services across rural areas.

This new program will help Cloud County seek the strategy and support needed to turn opportunities, like CloudAID, into long-term economic resilience.
