Cloud County Resource Center Receives Significant Support from City of Concordia

Cloud County Resource Center

The City of Concordia participated in their Annual Giving Campaign by donating time, money and items to the Cloud County Resource Center.

This year, city staff delivered 2,300 food and hygiene items to the Food Bank. Employees donated items to help boost the supplies of the Food Bank ahead of the very busy summer season.

This year, 47% of the staff participated in this effort. The resulting canned goods, dry goods, perishable foods, soap, and diapers will help keep the food bank and the infant care supply pantry ready for the numbers of people needing assistance between May and August.

Items such as cereal, canned chicken and tuna, canned fruit, pasta, pasta sauce, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and boxed dinners are high traffic items that the food bank gives out in high quantities.

The infant care pantry, launched in April of 2024, is designed to boost support to families with infants requiring additional supplies such as formula, diapers, wipes and baby food that might cause financial hardship.

“We’re so grateful that the employees of the City of Concordia always have our back on projects like these,” says Executive Director Tonya Merrill. “We are only able to accomplish the task of taking care of the residents of Cloud County because others, like the employees of the city, help us do that.”
