Corvias, Fort Riley
Corvias, in partnership with Sunstone Energy Development and City, Light & Power, has successfully completed Phase III of an energy independence initiative at U.S. Army Garrison Fort Riley. This milestone supports the Department of Defense’s goal of achieving 100% energy self-sufficiency for military installations by 2030.
The latest phase introduced two solar PV arrays, interconnected in December, which enhance energy security and stabilize electricity rates for Fort Riley’s housing communities. These arrays offset nearly 40% of the housing community’s annual electricity consumption and contribute to Fort Riley’s $2 billion community economic impact.
Sunstone Energy Development, a joint venture of Corvias Solar Solutions and Onyx Renewables, has delivered renewable energy solutions for Corvias Army housing for over a decade. The Fort Riley solar initiative, already one of Kansas’ largest, exemplifies Corvias’ commitment to supporting military readiness through sustainable energy solutions.
