The Greater Geary County Community Foundation’s 6th Annual Match Day is set for Tuesday, October 15th. Local non-profit organizations will gather at the Junction City Municipal Building Auditorium from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to speak with community members about their organization. This yearly event greatly impacts local organizations and Geary County as a whole.
Calvin Pottberg, Community Foundation President, said that in year one they raised $98,000, and just last year they raised over a half million dollars. The giving continues to grow.
This year there is $162,000 in Match money thanks to four generous donors: The R2B4 Bramlage Family Foundation, Central Charities Foundation, Crosby Family, and Hoover-Koken Foundation. Pottberg detailed how the Match money will be dispersed.
Community members can donate in person at the Municipal Building Auditorium, by sending a check postmarked by October 15th to the Foundation at P.O. Box 411, Junction City, or conveniently online at www.gearymatchday.com from midnight to 11:59 p.m. on the 15th. A list of Match Day Participants and other information can be found on the website.
