The City of Linn will host two Saturday morning events on June 14th and June 21st, with proceeds going to support their “Paint the Town” mural project. Enjoy of morning of Breakfast & Baseball at the Linn City Building and South Ball Diamond Concession Stand starting at 8:00 a.m. each day.

On June 14th, Biscuits & Gravy will be served with Breakfast sandwiches on the menu on June 21st.

Alan Ohlde of Linn said the idea of the mural came up in a city council meeting. The project aims to celebrate Linn’s storied history.

“We thought it would be kind of a neat idea to do a project that would preserve and celebrate our local history by depicting Linn’s agricultural contributions, including grain production, dairies, the Creamery, and other legacies of Linn.”

The morning baseball entertainment will include the Cub Crushers vs. the Diamond Ducks 3 and 4-year-old division. Game one will take place at 9:00 a.m. with a second game at 10:00 a.m.  Ohlde said murals can help a town build pride.

“I think that it will open up a whole window of things that we can do for our community to build pride and maybe garner some tourism, possibly.”
