Marysville’s Pony Up Match Day Set for May 2nd

By: Ryan Duey

The Marysville Community Foundation will hold its 9th Annual Pony Up Marysville Match Day on Friday, May 2nd. This annual event, held at the Helvering Community Center from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. is a crucial day for non-profit organizations in the community as it allows them to receive matching funds on their donations thanks to area donors.

Participating funds will receive a 50% match thanks to generous donors Jeff Crist, MCF President, said this year they have $100,000 in match money.

“We have $100,000 in match money thanks to generous donors. Our match money maximum per organization will be $3000 and during the day for our walk-in donors, we have hourly drawings.”

“It’s kind of fun because all those who participate or bring a walk-in donation will have their names put in a drawing. If your name is drawn out, you can choose a charitable organization to which you would like that money to go.”

Last year’s Match Day brought in over $540,000. Crist said Pony up Marysville touches everybody in the county.

“I always try to tell people that Pony up Marysville Match Day touches the lives of every person in Marysville, and almost every person in Marshall County.”

If you can’t make it to Helvering Community Center, donations will be accepted online from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on May 2nd.

All information, including a list of participating organizations, can be found at ponyupmarysville.com.
