The Republic County Community Foundation (RCCF) will host its inaugural ‘Fund the Future of Republic County’ Match Day event on Thursday, May 1st, at Kallman Office Suites from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 23 participating nonprofit organizations will have a chance to greatly grow their funds with donations being matched up to 50% from a $40,000 pool.
Molly Williams, RCCF Director, said their monthly Match events have been such a great success that they wanted to add another way to give back.
“Part of our funds come from our December Match Month event that we have been doing for several years successfully, thanks to grants from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation and the Patterson Family Foundation.”
“That monthly event has been so successful for us. We use those funds to make grants to our communities for their immediate needs. So, based on that successful event, we felt it was time to do a one-day endowment fundraising event.”
Giving on this day can greatly impact participating nonprofits, with a donation of $100 turning into $150 with the matching funds. A unique feature of this inaugural event will include giving every 5th-grade student in Republic County $10 to donate to a nonprofit of their choice, encouraging students to explore the power of giving.
Williams said this is one way to give to those who always help us.
“This is our first Endowment Match Day event in Republic County. We are calling it ‘Fund the Future’ because it benefits our nonprofits’ futures.”
“We are so excited to provide a fundraising opportunity for our nonprofits, because in a small county with small towns, those nonprofits provide vital opportunities for all of us.”
“This is just one way for us to give back to those who always help us.”
During the event, patrons are encouraged to visit the participating nonprofits at Kallman Office Suites. Donations can be made in person at the event, via check to RCCF, or online on May 1st at www.fundthefuturerc.com.
