CHS Class of 1969 Contributes to CMS Outdoor Recreation Project

USD 333 Release

The USD 333 Class of 1969 celebrated their 55th class reunion this summer and decided they wanted to leave a legacy for future classes in Concordia schools.  The Class of 1969 alumni donated $500 toward the Concordia Middle School Outdoor Recreation project to benefit students and our community all year long.  This recreational area will be a fenced area east of CMS with a leveled permeable turf surface, open to students during school, and open to the public when school is not in session.

Class of 1969 alumni are generously providing our kids with the gift of health and happiness and the Concordia Education Fund is still accepting gifts toward this project.  The field will be available to approximately 200 middle school students during the day, an additional 90-100 students attending the Concordia Afterschool Program (CAP), and our community as a whole.

Concordia Education Fund director, Kim Muff, says Pam Campbell, a class of 1969 alum, asked what they could do to help current students and this project seemed a good fit.  “It’s fun to see hear stories about alumni classes and see that many still live within our region,” said Muff.  We are grateful for this support for students that will last far into the future. Thank you Class of 1969!”

Superintendent Quentin Breese said, “Students are the ones who benefit with community and alumni support.  We are grateful to our board of education members who provided this opportunity to support our students with the creation of the Concordia Education Fund, and thank you Class of 1969 alumni for paying it forward to our next generation of middle school students!”
