Kansas State University’s KAWSE program is hosting 2025 GROW workshop and EXCITE shadow days this fall. These events will engage middle school and high school students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, or STEM.
“KAWSE programs aim to advance K-State’s commitment to create career pathways for learners of all ages,” said Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Innovation Margaret Mohr-Schroeder. “We’re excited to welcome students to campus and provide engaging hands-on experiences to ignite their interest in a future STEM career.”
Students in sixth-eighth grade are invited to register online for the GROW workshop from 9 a.m.- 3p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, in the Atrium of the Engineering Building. GROW is a workshop to encourage middle school students’ interest in science, technology, engineering or math through hands-on activities. This year’s theme “KAWSE Eco-Innovators” will engage students in different activities showing the connection between STEM and environmental innovation. Join in the fun to see KAWSE go green! High school students are invited to register for EXCITE Shadow Days. Students can join a current K-State undergraduate as they go about their normal day on campus – attend classes/labs, tour campus, eat lunch at the K-State Student Union, and get answers to their questions about college life. Our fall semester events are 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. Wednesdays Oct. 15 and Nov. 12, in 207 K-State Student Union. Learn more or register here.
KAWSE programs are open to all and emphasize the exciting educational and professional opportunities available in various STEM disciplines.
