OneMarysville will host a ‘Welcome to Marysville: Newcomers & Networkers’ event on Thursday, September 25th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Venue 36.
This come-and-go event aims to bring residents who are newer to Marysville and various community organizations together to help answer any questions they may have. Wayne Kruse, OneMarysville Director, spoke of this first-time event.
“The office often gets a series of questions, everything from:
- How does Marysville do Halloween?
- When is Santa in his office?
- How do I find a babysitter?
- Or how do I get involved with a pickleball club?”
“We want to make sure that people feel welcome because we want them to love where they live.”
“So, we put this event together to help answer those questions and to help make those connections.”
The event will also offer prize giveaways and refreshments for attendees. Kruse said they want this to be a welcoming event for all.
“You’ll see things grouped. If you’re looking for outdoor experiences, you’re going to go to this area. If you’re looking for arts and culture, you’ll go over there, and so on.”
“Then throughout the evening, there will be people who will be able to answer questions for families, for singles, for different generations.”
“So come with questions and just go around and learn what’s going on in Marysville, and how you can be involved at whatever level you want to be.”
The evening will conclude with a ‘Community Wide Sing-Along’ as a fun way to connect as a community. Kruse did emphasize that while it is designed for newer residents, all community members are welcome to attend.
