Monica Thayer, RVED Family Resource Management Agent
To promote financial literacy and empower consumers, River Valley Extension District Agent Monica Thayer is launching a new program, “Check Your Credit,” aimed at educating individuals about the importance of credit reports and how to monitor their credit effectively.
“Check Your Credit” is designed to help consumers understand their credit reports, identify potential errors, and take steps to improve their financial standing. With identity theft and financial fraud on the rise, regularly reviewing credit reports is more important than ever. This program will provide participants with the knowledge and tools they need to confidently navigate their credit history.
“Check Your Credit” will cover topics such as how to obtain free credit reports, dispute inaccuracies, and build healthy credit habits. The program will officially launch on Monday, February 24th, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Wakefield Public Library (205 Third Street, Wakefield, KS 67487).
To register for the event, contact the River Valley Extension District – Belleville Office at 785-527-5084. For any questions, contact Monica at the same number or via email at mthayer@ksu.edu.
