RCHS Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Teacher, Megan Steiner, has been honored as the VFW Post 1786 National Citizenship Education Teacher of the Year. Celebrating 17 years in teaching, Mrs. Steiner expressed surprise and gratitude, citing her counselor’s veteran background as the reason for the nomination. The award, recognizing citizenship, innovation, resources, and passion in the classroom, positions Mrs. Steiner as a District finalist. Despite her modesty, the upcoming December 15th ceremony in Manhattan marks a significant achievement, and the RCHS community eagerly awaits Mrs. Steiner’s journey to the district level.
