The Riley County USD 378 Board of Education met on Tuesday, February 6th to discuss the status of Superintendent Cliff Williams’ suspension. He currently remains on paid administrative leave for undisclosed reasons.

Board president Samantha Brown moved to authorize Hoover Law Firm of Junction City to carry out negotiations with Williams. In two weeks, the law firm is to report back to the school board with the motion passing 4-3.

Williams has been suspended since January 8th. Board members did not discuss the circumstances of the suspension. During a special meeting held on January 18th, Board member Nathan Mead made the motion to reinstate Williams as superintendent but lost, with a 3-4 vote.
