The River Valley Extension District will hold two programs titled “Make Active Habits Stick” in Concordia and Belleville on Tuesday, February 18th. The Concordia program will be held at 11:45 a.m. at the Concordia Senior Citizen’s Center. While the Belleville program will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the Belleville Public Library.
Jordan Schuette, Adult Development & Aging Agent, will conduct the program, helping attendees identify the “why” for physical activity. She spoke about this upcoming program.
“We can list all the reasons why regular physical activity is good for our health, but you know we can all probably come up with an even longer list of the barriers that keep us from exercise.”
This program is really going to start helping people identify the “why” for physical activity: “What drives you to want to be more?”
“We’ll tackle some of those barriers that might be keeping us from engaging in physical activity. This program will help us create those new habits and routines to make that change stick.”
Both programs are free and open to anyone looking to create healthier habits. An RSVP is requested for a head count. Contact Schuette at the Washington Extension office at (785) 325-2121 with any questions or to RSVP for either program.
