On December 12th, USD 379 issued a survey to Wakefield parents to gauge interest in adding a preschool in the town.
Jaclyn Pfizenmaier of USD 379 says the district is asking any family in the Wakefield community that has a child that will be 3 or 4 years old on August 31st of 2024 to fill out the survey:
USD379 had issued a similar survey to Wakefield citizens two years ago, but Pfizenmaier says there was not enough interest generated to warrant further developments:
Pfizenmaier says that while there is currently not a set deadline for responses, the sooner families can fill out the form the better. Once the district determines the survey has reached its end, they will compile the results for the board to review to decide if creating a new preschool in Wakefield is fiscally achievable.
