On Sunday, May 4th a group of World Champion Irish dancers, musicians, and vocalists will bring their talents to the Brown Grand Theatre in Concordia during their “A Taste of Ireland-The Irish Music & Dance Sensation” tour. The two-hour performance will run from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Dancer Liam Fitzgerald said while they have some performers from the U.K., Australia, and the U.S., most hail from Ireland. Fitzgerald said the show will showcase the history of Ireland.
“‘A Taste of Ireland’ is a live, Irish dancing and music show that explores the history of Ireland from mythical tales, as well as events that go throughout its history, such as the potato famine, the 1916 Easter Rising, and then into the more modern day.”
“It goes through lots of different historical moments that lots of Irish people will know about, but even if you’re not Irish, you’ll know what’s going on. You’ll learn a bit about Ireland and enjoy the life, music, and dancing hopefully.”
Presented by Pace Live, “A Taste of Ireland” debuted in the U.S. in 2024, as a highly successful Off-Broadway engagement. Since then, performers have been traveling the world, captivating audiences with world class dancing, heartwarming storytelling, and more. Fitzgerald said he’s looking forward to visiting the area.
“I’m very much looking forward to going to Concordia, and some other towns in Kansas as well. Traveling around will be good fun. It’s always great to see so many different parts of America that I never would have seen otherwise.”
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on the Brown Grand Theatre’s website. More information on “A Taste of Ireland” can be found on their website.
