Abilene’s Chisolm Trail Days will Bring the Cowboy Tradition Back to Abilene this Weekend

Abilene’s 2024 Chisholm Trail Days in Old Abilene Town will feature a parade of longhorns on Saturday, August 31, celebrating Abilene’s cowboy heritage.

This two-day, family-friendly event kicks off on Friday, August 30, with the Kids Olympics at 5:30 p.m., offering five events for children from kindergarten to fifth grade. Country musician Jaydon Evans will perform at 6:00 p.m., and food vendors will be available from 5:00 p.m.

On Saturday, the longhorns will parade through Old Abilene Town at noon and 2:30 p.m., accompanied by various demonstrations and entertainment, including Cancan dancers and gunfight reenactments.

The festivities will conclude with a performance by country musician Savanna Chestnut and The Fieldhands, at 8:00 p.m. This event honors and preserves Abilene’s unique history for future generations.
