Season 22 American Idol Top 10 Finalist KAYKO will perform at the Brown Grand Opera House in Concordia on Friday, December 13th at 7:00 p.m. Eyed by Katy Perry for his star quality, KAYKO made his way up the ladder of American Idol with a combination of original songs, interesting melodies, and energizing stage presence.
KAYKO said he started playing piano at just three years old. His music is inspired by the music his parents listened to when he was growing up.
“I found Classic Rock. My parents were always playing Bon Jovi and Journey, and I was like, oh, wait, this stuff is awesome. So, I started writing songs on piano. They were always like 80s-style power ballads. And so later in life, I went to school at Berkeley for songwriting. I moved to Nashville, and now I’m a professional songwriter and I’m still making 80s power ballads.”
KAYKO’s original music, including “Poser,” “Someday That I Used to Know,” “Time of Your Life,” “What If?,” and more can be found on media platforms such as TikTok, Spotify, YouTube, and more.
KAYKO said attendees of the concert should expect a fun show of joy and energy. He will perform the music from American Idol and more. KAYKO spoke of his previous trip to Concordia.
“I came to Concordia in the summer of 2023, and it was actually my birthday at the time. So, we were asking the students that we were working with, like, oh, what should we do? They’re like, you got to go to the Mexican restaurant and ask for the special treatment. And so, I don’t live in Kansas, but I have celebrated a birthday, and I have gotten the special treatment from the Mexican restaurant.”
Tickets are currently on sale on the Brown Grand website, under Events. You can follow KAYKO online at www.kaykomusic.com.
