The Marshall County Arts Cooperative is bringing its unique flair to the fairway with Swinging Fore the Arts, the organization’s annual golf tournament and signature summer fundraiser. This four-person scramble will be Saturday, July 26, at the Marysville Country Club.

Registration opens at 8 a.m., with announcements at 9 a.m. and a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. The cost is $100 per golfer, which includes green fees, breakfast and lunch. Space is limited to 20 teams. Teams must register by Friday, July 18.

Proceeds support the cooperative’s mission to bring professional artists to Marshall County for performances and educational outreach with students. This year’s programming includes bringing the  Schmitz Blitz to perform at the Marshall County Fair and hosting the 1st Infantry Division Band to work with area band students when school resumes in the fall.

“This event is a reflection of who we are as an organization,” said Chris Felder, vice president of the Marshall County Arts Cooperative. “It’s fun, it’s creative and it helps us raise the funds we need to keep the arts alive and accessible across our county.”

Live music sets the tone throughout the day. From 10:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., Live Circuit, featuring Mike Wiegers, will bring a toe-tapping blend of classic rock and blues party songs, playing hits from the 1960s through the 1990s. The music continues from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with Acoustic Rooster, a high-energy acoustic act delivering rock, country, blues and a bit of acoustic surf.

Comedians AJ Finney and Nic Dean will roam the course during play, delivering punchlines and comic relief between swings. Finney’s mix of storytelling and Sixties-inspired vibes pairs well with Dean’s quirky, sharp-witted humor.

Artistic touches on several holes add to the fun, including themed games like Bobbing for Baby Ruth and movie trivia. Prizes will be awarded to the top two teams in two flights, along with flag prizes.

Spectators are invited to enjoy the music and creative atmosphere from the clubhouse porch throughout the day.

This year’s tournament theme, Caddyshack, encourages golfers to embrace the iconic comedy film’s playful spirit.

In conjunction with the tournament, board members for the cooperative are selling raffle tickets for a chance to win one of a dozen curated prizes. Raffle items range from a Tiffany & Co. bracelet and a golf basket to gift packages featuring local businesses, a $100 Casey’s gift card and a VIP night out with front-row parking for Reza’s Edge of Illusion performance December 14, 2025. Tickets are $1 each, $5 for six or $20 for 25. Winners will be drawn on July 26, and need not be present to win.
