Concordia’s Tourism Partners are banding together once again to host Deck the Halls, on Saturday, December 7th from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Deck the Halls is an attraction wide open house spanning 8 attractions. We are excited that this year each of the partners is participating in some fashion. Tourism Partners include: Cloud County Tourism, Concordia Broadway Plaza, the Brown Grand Theatre, WWII German POW Camp Concordia, the National Orphan Train Complex, the Sisters of St. Joseph Nazareth Convent, Frank Carlson Library, the Cloud County Historical Society Museum, Concordia Chamber of Commerce, CloudCorp, and the City of Concordia.
Our attractions have been decorating for the holidays and are excited to share the joys of the season with you. Each will have unique offerings that day including, free tours, refreshments, photo booths, activities for kids, and a chance at each location to win $100 in Chamber Bucks. I hope you’ve been nice because Santa will be visiting!
We have included a Playlist of Attractions: Tuned into Fun this year to get you in the holiday spirit on our Deck the Halls 2024 Facebook Event. Each Tourism Partner has chosen a song that will be posted to the event discussion page that we hope you’ll enjoy.
In addition to the Deck the Halls festivities we would like to acknowledge the First United Methodist Church hosting its annual Cookie Day Sale from 8:30am – 10:30am. The Concordia PEO group, Chapter EV, is hanging winter scarves and mittens along the Broadway Plaza fence to be given away to those in need as one of their service projects for the year.
Tourism Partners invites you to be a tourist in your own hometown. These places tell our stories, our history. Immerse yourself in the often untold stories of Concordia’s past as we strive to understand and use those lessons moving into the future. Come see our town with new eyes, open minds, and curiosity.
