Bennington is gearing up for its annual Fun Day & Parade event on Saturday, May 31st. The day kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with a 5K Fun Run. This family-friendly event is filled with a day full of activities and events leading up to the PRCA Rodeo at 8:00 p.m.
Funds raised from the Fun Day go to the Bennington Family Center to help provide activities, high-quality programs, and family resources to the surrounding area. Tanya Koehn with the Bennington Family Center said this event is meant to bring the community together.
“This event has been a tradition for over 35 years, and it’s really all about bringing people together.”
“We kick off the day with a 5K to promote wellness and community spirit. From there, the day is just jam-packed with activities for all ages. Capping the day off with the Bennington PRCA Rodeo.”
“It is a day that celebrates our small-town lives and community support.”
This year will feature a car show downtown starting at 8:00 a.m. Other activities include: Turtle Races, a Kids Zone, 3 on 3 Basketball, a Cake Walk, Parade, and more. Registration for the many events is open and can be completed online.
Koehn said this day would not be possible without the local sponsors and community support.
“The Fun Day and Parade would not be possible without our sponsors and community partners.”
“Also, I will say the Bennington Family Center Board of Directors has put in a lot of time, and we have dedicated community members who have also worked tirelessly behind the scenes.”
“Our local businesses downtown are working tirelessly also to help this this event.”
“This day truly does showcase the power of our community and what we can accomplish when we come together to support local families and the surrounding communities.”
Koehn encourages attendees to bring their lawn chairs and sunscreen to prepare for a fun-filled day. Pre-registration for events is highly encouraged.
