HYPROV: Improv Under Hypnosis Coming to McCain Auditorium

By: Ryan Duey

On Sunday, December 8th at 4:00 p.m. McCain Auditorium in Manhattan will erupt in laughter during the interactive comedy show “HYPROV: Improv Under Hypnosis.”

From the mind of Improv Comedian Colin Mochrie, from “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?”, and World Renowned Hypnotist Asad Mecci, the show will feature Mecci and actor/comedian Jeff Hiller, star of HBO’s “Somebody Somewhere,” teaming up for an improvised comedy show, featuring hypnotized volunteers.

Mecci explained how the idea of “Hyprov: Improv Under Hypnosis” came to be.

Mecci said he brings 20 volunteers from the audience and hypnotizes them, the most receptive to the hypnotism will then perform a live improv show with Hiller while they’re hypnotized.  He said if you want to laugh so hard you’ll cry, be in Manhattan that afternoon.

Hiller has a unique connection with the city of Manhattan, as he explained.

While it is a family-friendly show, Mecci said it is recommended for children aged 12 and up, and stage volunteers must be 18 or older. Tickets are currently available for purchase on the McCain Auditorium website.
