Mari Detrixhe Community Service Award

National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Community Service Awards are an opportunity for Chapters to recognize worthy individuals in their humanitarian, patriotic, historical, citizenship, or environmental conservation endeavors. Nathan Edson Chapter is honored to present an NSDAR Community Service Award to Mari Detrixhe.

Deb Ohlde, Clyde Area Foundation President, says, “Mari continually chooses to offer her time, talent, and treasure to make our community better.”

Ohlde also listed volunteer activities in her letter:

-Member of the Clyde Beautification Committee and always helping to maintain plants and flowers in our downtown pocket park.

-Operating the Clyde-Area Recycling Center, which involes working Saturday shifts and managing other volunteers, as well as shipping recycling materials for processing.

-Assisting at the annual Watermelon Festival by playing and organizing music.

-Visiting area nursing homes to perform music to residents.

-Active member of Lion’s Club and supporting historical society.

In addition, Detrixhe has the ability to make new residents feel welcome by making new friendships and remaining close with them. She is especially caring for those who are homebound or living in a nursing home; her personal connections enriches the community and its members’ lives.

It is our honor to present this Community Service Award.
