Marysville will celebrate its beloved mascot with the Black Squirrel Fall Fest on Saturday, October 18th, from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. in downtown Marysville.

The event honors the city’s unique 1972 ordinance directing the mayor to proclaim an annual Black Squirrel Day. This year’s festival features a full day of family activities, including live performances, games, a doughnut-eating contest, and the annual costume competition.

Treats on Broadway will offer candy and giveaways, while the Marysville Fire Department will offer s’mores at 6:00 p.m. They will also host a chili fundraiser throughout the day to help purchase a new fire truck. Food trucks, local vendors, and dessert stands will line the streets. The Bulldog Marching Band and fire performers will close out the evening.

A traditional coffee-and–Black Squirrel doughnut stop, dating back to 1972, will be hosted by city leaders. Event details are available on the OneMarysville website.
