NBA 2k24 Video Game Draws Inspiration From Wabash Cannonball

By Jayson Henderson

The K-State Wildcats’ electrifying tradition, the Wabash Cannonball, has earned a spot in the highly anticipated NBA 2K24 video game. The inclusion of this iconic dance in the game is a testament to the energy and enthusiasm brought by K-State men’s basketball and their head coach Jerome Tang. NBA 2K developer Tim Parham, who once played college basketball with K-State’s assistant coach Jareem Dowling, recognized the passion surrounding Tang’s program and reached out to Dowling to make this collaboration possible. While the in-game move is named ‘Runner,’ it draws inspiration from the Wabash Cannonball and Tang’s postgame celebrations. This integration of university tradition into a world-renowned video game is expected to boost the program’s visibility and impact.
