An automotive parts manufacturer with plants in Wichita and El Dorado has agreed to pay a $260k fine to the Environmental Protection Agency to resolve alleged violations of the Clean Water Act. The EPA reported that both facilities have 1 million gallons of oil storage capacity but did not have an oil spill prevention and response plan in place to prevent oil seeping into Kansas waters. Shortly after the EPA’s inspection, the agency reported that they had received the required plans.
