KDWP Suspends Fall Turkey Hunting

By Tim Voelker

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks has suspended the fall turkey hunting season. Kent Fricke, KDWP small game biologist tells us about the turkey population in Kansas.

He also talks about why the fall turkey hunting season was suspended.

To help increase the turkey population the KDWP is funding the Habitat First Program which gives financial assistance to landowners to improve habitat. KDWP is also funding a state wide research project to study the turkeys in Kansas.
