RCPD and Aggieville Business Association to Close Moro Streets to Vehicles During Busy Hours

By: Ryan Duey

The Aggieville Business Association, in collaboration with the Riley County Police Department, will close the 1100 and 1200 blocks of Moro Street to motor vehicles from 11:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. This closure aims to accommodate the potential future implementation of common consumption areas. North Manhattan Ave. and Laramie Street will remain open, and vehicles parked earlier on Moro Street can still be retrieved.

During the closure, Aggieville is expected to be crowded with people leaving bars and gathering on sidewalks and Moro Street. Due to the closure, finding rideshares like Uber or Lyft may be challenging, so a designated pick-up area will be set up at 606 North Manhattan Ave., in front of Chipotle Mexican Grill.
