Abilene, KS
More than 600 visitors from six states and many Kansas communities enjoyed the Heritage Homes Association’s 47th Annual Homes for the Holidays Tour, celebrating the charm and history of Abilene’s historic architecture. This year’s event showcased five historic homes and one church, delighting attendees with their unique stories and festive holiday decor.
“Every tour is unique, and this was no exception,” said Nanc Scholl, a Heritage Homes Association board member. “We heard nothing but positive comments from both attendees and homeowners, making this year’s event truly special.”
The annual tour supports the Heritage Homes Association’s Bronze Plaque Program, which recognizes and preserves the legacy of Abilene’s historic properties.
The 2025 Homes for the Holidays Tour is already scheduled for December 6 and 7. Homeowners interested in showcasing their historic properties during next year’s tour are encouraged to contact Nanc Scholl at abileneresearcher@yahoo.com to learn more about participation opportunities.
“Thank you to everyone who attended, and a special thanks to the homeowners and volunteers who make this beloved tradition possible,” Scholl added. “We couldn’t do it without your support.”
