After five years of leading Abilene’s Eisenhower Marathon, Steve Cathey is considering passing the baton on to someone else. Cathey started as a runner in the Marathon six years ago, taking over the whole event the following year.
Cathey, who has helped the Event grow and thrive, stated that it has become a bit of a strain on his personal life. His job contains a good amount of travel, and juggling work and travel while trying to run the event has become a bit overwhelming.
Cathey would like someone to take over to keep the tradition going in Abilene. He said most of the hard work is already in place and just needs someone to take over and grow the Event itself. Anyone interested in getting information on this role can contact Cathey directly.
