Comedian Drew Hernandez will take the stage at the Junction City American Legion Post 45 on Saturday, May 31st at 7:00 p.m. Hernandez, also known on Social Media as “A Combat Veteran” will perform to an audience of Soldiers and Veterans around the area.
Hernandez travels the country performing his Comedy for the military and general audience throughout the year. He said it’s very different doing comedy in person versus on the internet.
“I’ve been doing comedy for the past decade, doing sketches and skits on the Internet. What I learned, especially when it comes to the veteran community, is that I have a really good eye when it comes to the type of comedy they like to hear and the jokes they would appreciate.”
“So, I just figured, you know, it was time for me to get on stage and start doing comedy in person.”
Hernandez said the veteran community is very engaging to perform for.
“I think veterans are probably the wildest audience that I’ve performed in front of, especially when it comes to my fans, just their energy and rawness. Sometimes you get hecklers, sometimes you get people who will finish a joke for you, or make your joke even better.”
“The veteran community is very engaging when it comes to stand-up comedy. I have performed in front of quite a few different audiences, and the veteran communities are by far the best audience.”
“The veteran community is a melting pot of everywhere.”
Hernandez said that if any Soldiers or Veterans haven’t been to a Comedy Show, this is a great opportunity to get out and have some fun watching a Show catered to them.
More information on the show, including ticket information, is available on his “A Combat Veteran” Facebook Page.
