Concordia’s Got Talent 2025

Brown Grand Opera House Release

The Brown Grand Opera House is sponsoring a talent show fundraiser which will be held on March 1st and 8th. Live auditions for this show will be March 1st starting at 3pm at the Brown Grand Theatre. All contestants selected for the final rounds must be available to perform in the final show on Saturday, March 8th. Over $500 in cash prizes will be awarded to the winners of the final talent competitions.

Inspired by shows such as “America’s Got Talent,” the Brown Grand has decided to promote the talent of North Central Kansas and the surrounding area. There will be two divisions: Division I will showcase youth from 6 to 16 years of age, while Division II is for adults 17 and older. Individuals and groups will be considered for any type of appropriate talent for a family-oriented audience.

All live auditions will be held on Saturday, March 1st at 3:00pm at the Brown Grand. Contestants must pre-register online no later than Wednesday, February 26th, no additional acts will be accepted after this deadline. Individuals and groups must check-in as they arrive. Doors will open at 2:30pm and the audition round is free and open to the public to watch. Those auditioning will have 4 minutes to set up their act and then 2.5 minutes to give a sample of their performance. Performance time for the finals will be a maximum of 5 minutes. Participants should audition with the act they intend to perform at the talent show, even if it cannot be completed in the 2.5-minute audition – which should showcase the best of their talents.

If contestants cannot attend the March 1st audition, they may submit a video. All absentee submissions should be emailed to the Brown Grand at director@browngrand.org. All electronic submissions must be received by February 26th. Cast lists for the final show for each Division will be posted on the Brown Grand’s website (www.browngrand.org/events) following the audition day on March 1st. All rules, regulations and information are posted on the Brown Grand’s website. Contestants may be from any area.

Each group/contestant should fill out a registration form which is available on the Brown Grand’s website: www.browngrand.org/events. Forms may also be picked up at the theatre. Those sending forms back before March 1st may enclose them as attachments to the above email address by the deadline of February 26th.

The theatre will provide the same general lighting for all acts, up to six microphones and a sound system which can play electronic files from a USB drive. A Brown Grand technician will run the equipment. A grand piano and monitor will also be available. All other equipment must be provided by contestants. Acts which contain fire or are dangerous to audience members will not be allowed.

Criteria for selecting the acts will be based on stage presence and professionalism, technical ability, appearance/costume, creativity, appropriateness for audience and overall performance/difficulty of the act. Three judges will select the acts for the final show. Each judge will have the ability to forward one act directly to the final show.

Admission to watch the live auditions on March 1st is free and open to the public. The final performance will be Saturday, March 8th – Division I will begin at 3pm and Division II will begin at 5pm. Admission to attend the final performances is $15 per person for one of the two Divisions or $25 per person for both Divisions. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door only.
