This weekend in Abilene the End of the Trail Quilters Guild will be hosting their bi-annual “Sunflower Journey Quilt Show” at Sterl Hall, in conjunction with the Youth Quilt Show at the Parks & Rec Building. Both shows will run on both Saturday, from 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, from 12 pm to 4 pm.
Anne Minter Rose, Chairperson of the Quilt Show, says the show will feature 183 quilts, plus new vendors.
The Sunflower Café will be serving up soup, sandwiches, and pie. A Silent Auction will also be taking place during the Show.
Proceeds from the Auction help the Guild continue their Community Service work of making quilts for Hospice Patients. Rose said this service is very near and dear to their hearts.
Rose stated that each Show will have maps of the Cowboy Boot Trail along with the Shows being near the World’s Largest Belt Buckle for those attending who may not be as interested in quilting. The Ida Stover-Eisenhower Quilt Show is also taking place in Abilene at the Dickinson County Historical Society.
