Greenleaf Legion to Host “Caring for Our Future” Benefit on March 22 to Aid Three Local Children Facing Health Challenges

The Greenleaf American Legion Post 235 will host a “Caring for our Future” free-will donation Benefit on Saturday, March 22nd at 4:00 p.m. to help three area youth battling serious health battles.

The evening will feature music by the Sidetracked Band, a Taco Bar, dancing, and a variety of activities, with all proceeds going to the families to assist in any way possible.

Proceeds from the Benefit will go to the families of infant Kole William Bruna, 8-year-old Addie Voelker, and 6-year-old Micah Helms.

Infant Kole William Bruna was diagnosed in utero with a congenital heart defect. Kole has already gone through one surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital, with another surgery planned for March 19th.

8-year-old Addie Voelker was diagnosed with Synovial Cell Sarcoma. She is currently at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Tennessee with her parents flying back and forth. She has undergone two surgeries and is currently undergoing treatment.

6-year-old Micah Helms was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. He underwent brain surgery to have the tumor removed and will start radiation and chemotherapy soon.

Anyone who cannot make the Benefit, or would simply like to donate to help these families can send financial support to:
