Hope Ranch to Host Annual Spring Horse Show & Fundraiser May 17th

By: Ryan Duey

Hope Ranch Therapeutic Riding Center, a nonprofit organization that offers therapeutic riding lessons to people with a wide array of disabilities, will host its Spring Horse Show on Saturday, May 17th at 9:00 a.m., on their Ranch outside of Manhattan.

The Horse Show will feature horse rides, Jamaican cuisine, a 50/50 raffle, and more. Cathy Scroggs, co-owner of Hope Ranch, said the Horse Show is open to anybody.

“The main event, of course, is our Horse Show, and that is something that we do every fall and spring. It features many of our clients here at Hope Ranch, but it is also open to the public.”

“Again, it’s open to individuals of all abilities in both Western and English disciplines. So, we’re excited about that.”

Scroggs said their 35-acre Ranch was founded in 2006 by Ken Scroggs and his 10-year-old daughter. Program Coordinator Tre Holmes is a Certified Instructor of Riders with Disabilities, offering lessons to people of all abilities.

Along with the Show, patrons can donate their gently used tack and saddles to be sold during their fundraising event.

“We will also have a tack donation and saddle resale fundraiser where you can donate your gently used tack or saddles to support Hope Ranch.”

“All those donated items will be available for purchase during our Horse Show, with 100% of the proceeds going to our programs.”

Tack and saddle donations need to be completed by Saturday, May 10th. To donate, register, or get more information on Hope Ranch and the Spring Horse Show, visit their Facebook page.
