Since 1976, Geary County has been celebrating America’s Freedom with a multi-day celebration at Milford Lake. The event moved to downtown Junction City in 2002, with the name being changed to “Freedom Fest” three years ago.
This year’s Freedom Fest will take place from Wednesday, July 3rd to Sunday, July 7th. Bob Story, Co-Chair of Freedom Fest, has been involved with this celebration for 20 years, he said this Event has everything.
Story said you can expect to see all the normal events and activities, from the carnival, freedom run and parade, bands, veterans ceremony, and more. There are also things being brought back, including a Car Show, a tank on display, plus a fun new activity sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
A full schedule of daily events and activities for this year’s Freedom Fest can be found at www.freedomfestjc.com.
