The Kiwanis Club of Abilene in partnership with Walt’s Four Seasons Campground will host their 3rd annual Tadpoles & Mermaids Fishing Tournament on Saturday, June 15th. The Tournament, geared for children 14 and under, will start at 9:00 a.m. at Walt’s Campground just off I-70 at the Enterprise Exit, East of Abilene.
Kelly McKenzie, Owner of Walt’s, said they’re always looking for something to do to support the youth.
McKenzie said that after children get signed up, they will be given worms and a yardstick. Judges will be spread around the pond to measure and record their catch and help as needed. The top anglers with the most inches will win prizes. The pond is stocked and ready.
Simply head to Walt’s Campground Saturday morning to enter your child in the tournament. McKenzie also said that they will be offering free worms on Father’s Day to fish in their pond.
