On Saturday, March 29th the public is invited to the Clay County Museum Meeting Room in Clay Center at 2:00 p.m. to learn about the “Principles First” program. Principles First is a group of Americans dedicated to restoring principles in politics.
Since 2019 Americans have been organizing meetings across the country to share their love for democracy and concern with current politics. Pat Gilbert, Event Organizer, said Principles First is a networking organization.
“It’s basically a networking group. They started in 2019 and have had five Summits in the Washington, D.C. area.”
“It’s just a networking of ideas of people that are unhappy with the political situation right now and networking of ideas of how we can improve.”
Gilbert said this meeting will be an informal gathering with a guest speaker giving audience members an overview of the organization.
“Elaine Stephen is one of the founding members of Principles First. Elaine will give an overview of what Principles First is, and then we’ll take questions.”
“It’ll be really informal, and there’s no charge. It’s for people who are interested in trying to find something new and different to look at.”
Principles First follows 15 main principles, working together to effect change at the grassroots level and develop more principled leadership. To learn more about Principles First at www.principlesfirst.us.
